In a bold and heartfelt move, Swedish singer-songwriter GINAxC has officially started removing her AI-generated music from Spotify and Apple Music released in 2024. The first major step in this transition came with the removal of her album Blue Remixes, marking the beginning of a new era in her artistry.
Over the coming months, GINAxC plans to continue this process by eventually taking down the
albums Blue Obsessions, Yellow Lava, and finally, the EP Blue Confessions. Several singles have already been removed, but one track — Midsummer Blues — will remain online at least through the summer due to its seasonal popularity and strong fan response.
“I know many of these tracks have thousands of listeners and are featured in thousands of playlists,” she says, “so in a way, it’s a little sad to let them go. But it’s something I feel I need to do.”
The reason behind this shift is deeply personal. GINAxC is now fully committed to rebuilding her musical career with human-produced tracks and her own vocals, aiming to be seen — and heard — as the real artist she is. While AI helped her take her first bold steps into songwriting and releasing music, it has become increasingly important for her to create a clear distinction between AI-generated material and her own authentic voice.
“The AI ´-label doesn’t carry respect, and for those booking me — for festivals, gigs or interviews — it’s essential they know what my real voice sounds like.”
To maintain access to her earlier material while being fully transparent, GINAxC is considering creating a dedicated YouTube playlist where fans can continue listening to the AI versions. These would be clearly labeled, separate from her newer, fully human-made productions.
The phase-out will be gradual, with no fixed removal dates for the remaining albums yet. Fans are encouraged to follow her on social media for updates — and if there’s a favorite AI-era song they’d love to hear reborn in her own voice, she’s open to suggestions. While no decisions have been made yet, she says she might consider re-recording select tracks as fully reimagined human-made productions.
For now, the journey continues — one heartfelt, human note at a time.
