On December 17, Swedish artist GINAxC completed her online audition for Dreaming San Marino Song Contest, the national selection for San Marino’s Eurovision entry. The audition was held via Zoom and performed from her living room at home — a setting that proved both comfortable and empowering.
GINAxC feels that the audition went better than expected. Given previous health challenges, including episodes of heart palpitations earlier this year, being able to complete the audition was something she was deeply grateful for. “To be able to stand there, sing, and feel present in the moment meant a lot,” she reflects. She also notes that she feels stronger with each passing day.
In connection with the San Marino selection, GINAxC’s name has recently appeared on several Eurovision-focused blogs and news sites covering Dreaming San Marino Song Contest. This growing presence suggests that attention around her participation has started to build within the Eurovision community, as bloggers and fans follow the artists involved in the competition.
According to the contest rules, up to 240 artists will be selected to advance to the next stage, Stage & Live, which takes place over several days in February. From there, 40 artists will move on to the televised semi-finals, scheduled for March 3 or 4, depending on the semi-final. The grand final will be held on March 7.
GINAxC is now eagerly awaiting the results of the audition, expected in early February, and hopes to advance in the competition — not least for the opportunity to visit San Marino and the surrounding regions of Italy.
She has previously said that if she reaches the semi-finals, she plans to study Italian to better navigate daily life. Given how closely Stage & Live and the semi-finals are scheduled, she has already begun practicing Italian shortly after Christmas.
She also describes the audition experience itself as very positive. “It was truly lovely to meet the jury and my Zoom host — such kind and professional people,” she says. With gratitude, determination, and cautious optimism, GINAxC now looks ahead to the upcoming announcement and whatever the next chapter may bring.
