I’ve recently been contacted and selected for the next stage in the national selection process of a country participating in Eurovision. I won’t say which country it is, but I can share that it’s not in the Nordic region.

For me, this is meaningful not because I expect shortcuts to success, but because it confirms what I’ve already seen in my statistics: my music often sparks more interest outside of Sweden. Most of my listeners on Spotify are based in other parts of Europe, and this selection shows the same trend.

From what I’ve managed to dig up about this country’s selection process with the help of Google and ChatGPT, they usually receive hundreds of submissions each year. A jury reviews all the material and makes an initial shortlist. From there, a smaller number of artists are invited to present themselves and their songs in more detail, often through videos or live auditions. In the end, about 10–12 artists typically reach the televised final.

The fact that my music and artistry have caught their attention to the point where they want to know more about me is something I’m deeply grateful for. To possibly represent such a culturally rich country would of course be fantastic, but for now I’m simply taking it step by step and appreciating this moment.
