Swedish artist GINAxC admits she’s fully prepared for her upcoming Christmas single "Christmas Without You" to “flop completely” — at least commercially. Unlike her confident electro-pop anthems and bold lyrics, this song takes a completely different direction, that her fans aren't used to.

Built around soft piano, gentle strings, and light percussion, the track is tender, introspective, and deeply emotional. It’s closer in spirit to her ballad “Growing Without You” from her debut album MY DNA, which, as the title suggests, also carries a sense of loss and longing.

The idea for the Christmas song first came to her in 2019, shortly after the passing of her grandmother. The track has since evolved into a heartfelt tribute to her and to everyone we associate with Christmas — those who are no longer with us, and those we still have but may not appreciate often enough.

GINAxC says the song is also a reminder to cherish the people who are still here. She sends a special thought to her younger sister, brother, nephew, mother, father, and her own family, who continue to give her strength and purpose.

In this release, she chose sincerity over image: “For once, the tribute had to be more important than the persona,” she says. “There’s no light without darkness, and no darkness without light.” "Christmas Without You" will be released Nov 7, 2025 on all streaming platforms.
