I originally planned to share this news on Friday, but since Austrian media have already begun speculating about which artists might be among the final twelve to perform in the national selection, I’m choosing to reveal it today — Tuesday, October 7.

A few weeks ago, I was personally contacted by the Austrian casting team for the Eurovision Song Contest, who invited me to submit a performance video, presentation, and additional material for review. They even tried to call me — but the call didn’t go through due to the international dialing code. The fact that they reached out so quickly, just days after submissions opened, makes this even more exciting and meaningful.

Applications remain open until October 15, and by the end of the month twelve artists will be selected for the Vienna Calling 2026 final — where the winner will go on to represent Austria in the Eurovision Song Contest. No artists have been officially confirmed yet, but speculation has already begun — and it’s truly an honour to be in conversation with the team behind one of Europe’s most iconic music events.
On a personal note, this feels extra special: I recently discovered through a DNA test that I have Austrian roots that go back generations (1%), which feels almost symbolic — especially since my grandfather once owned a shop in Vienna, long before I was born. Somehow, it all feels meant to be.
No further updates will be shared until I receive approval from the Austrian scouting team, for obvious reasons. Link to external articles about "Vienna Calling - Wer singt für Österreich?"
